Unsection

Changelog

New updates and improvements to Unsection.

v1.13.0

A better phone and tablet experience

A better phone and tablet experience

Unsection now fits smaller screens. Phone and tablet layouts use the space properly, so browsing, saving, and choosing a plan no longer feel like a squeezed desktop site.

  1. 1. Homepage built for smaller screens: On tablets, the headline and featured media sit side by side. Type, filters, and search scale down so nothing spills off the edge.
  2. 2. Save without hovering: Save buttons stay visible on phones and tablets, so you can bookmark a section with a tap instead of hunting for a hover state.
  3. 3. Pricing that reads on a phone: Plan cards stack cleanly on phones and tablet portrait, then sit three across on tablet landscape. Headlines wrap instead of getting cut off.

Other improvements

  • Section pages use a two-column layout for ads and metadata on tablet.
  • Login and signup actions are full-width on phones.
  • The mobile menu and header respect iPhone safe areas.
  • Collections, search, account, and related galleries use tighter padding and wrapping.

v1.12.0

A cleaner experience for members

A cleaner experience for members

Pro and Lifetime members now browse without sponsor placements, while guest and Free visitors get clearer, more useful sponsored tool recommendations.

  1. 1. Ad-free paid access: Pro and Lifetime members no longer see sponsor cards in the homepage hero, section sidebars, or the sponsored strip above related inspiration.
  2. 2. Better sponsor placement: Section pages now include a dedicated four-card sponsor strip with clearer title-and-site captions, updated partner creative, and tracked destination links.
  3. 3. Refined plan benefits: Pro and Lifetime plans now call out ad-free browsing alongside their existing unlimited-access benefits.

Other improvements

  • External Visit links now include the Unsection referral parameter.
  • The header no longer carries a Beta badge.
  • Section metadata dates now use a compact day.month.year format.

Fixes

  • Fixed duplicate React keys for changelog releases published on the same date.

v1.11.0

Search the words inside screenshots

Search the words inside screenshots

You can now find sections by the copy that actually appears in the screenshot. Type a word like “Benefit”, choose Text in Screenshot, and Unsection shows designs where that text is on screen—not only in the title or category.

  1. 1. A second search option: Start typing in the header search to see two choices. Search still works as before, including jumping to a matching category. Text in Screenshot looks for that phrase inside the image.
  2. 2. Match headlines, labels, and UI copy: Use it when you remember a word from the design itself—pricing, benefits, testimonials, or a button label—and want sections that show that copy, not just a related tag.
  3. 3. Same Free and guest window: Guests and Free members still see up to 30 results, the same as other filtered searches.

v1.10.0

Browse first, sign in when you want to save

Browse first, sign in when you want to save

You can now open Unsection and look around without creating an account. Guests can browse the latest 100 inspirations on the homepage, and use the same 30-result window as Free on categories, filters, and search. Saving and creating collections still needs a sign-in.

  1. 1. No login wall to start browsing: The homepage, categories, filters, search, and section pages are open to visitors. Login and Join for free stay in the header when you are ready.
  2. 2. Guest limits that match the product: Guests can scroll the latest 100 sections on the homepage. Category, filter, and search results still stop at 30, the same as a Free member.
  3. 3. Save still belongs to an account: Clicking Save sends you to sign in, then back to the page you were on. Collections and folders stay behind an account so your library is never anonymous.
  4. 4. A clearer next step at the cap: When a guest reaches the browse limit, Unsection asks them to join for free—so they can keep browsing the homepage and start saving—instead of jumping straight to a paid upgrade.

v1.9.0

See the fonts behind every section

See the fonts behind every section

Every inspiration now lists the fonts it uses. Click a typeface to browse other sections that share it, the same way you already browse by Style or Type.

  1. 1. Fonts in Use on section pages: Open any section and you’ll find Fonts in Use under Type in the sidebar, with the typefaces used in that design.
  2. 2. Browse by typeface: Click a font name to open a dedicated gallery of sections that use it. From there you can still filter by Section, Style, and Type.

v1.8.0

Save limits for Free, unlimited for Pro

Save limits for Free, unlimited for Pro

Free members can now save up to 100 inspirations. Pro and Lifetime stay unlimited, and folder creation stays unlimited on every plan.

  1. 1. A clear Free save allowance: Free accounts can keep up to 100 unique inspirations. If you already saved more than that, nothing is removed—you just cannot add new ones until you unsave something or upgrade.
  2. 2. A clear upgrade path at the cap: When a Free member reaches 100 saved inspirations, the save dialog explains the limit and offers an upgrade to Pro for unlimited saves.
  3. 3. Folders stay unlimited: Create as many collections as you want on Free, Pro, or Lifetime. Organizing what you saved is not capped.

v1.7.0

Save inspiration into your own collections

Save inspiration into your own collections

You can now bookmark sections as you browse and keep them in personal collections. Saved inspiration stays with your account, so you can come back to a reference without hunting through the gallery again.

  1. 1. Save from the gallery or a section page: Use the bookmark on a card or the Save button on a section to keep it. Choose one or more collections, or save it without a folder and find it later under Saved.
  2. 2. Collections that you organize: Create collections with a name and color, rename or delete them from the Collections page, and open any collection to see the sections inside it. Deleting a collection does not unsave the sections—they stay in Saved.
  3. 3. A home for everything you kept: Open Collections from the header to switch between your folders and a Saved view of every bookmarked section.

v1.6.0

Simpler plan choices

Simpler plan choices

Yearly Pro is no longer available for new purchases. Pricing now offers Free, Pro Monthly, and Lifetime plans.

  1. 1. Existing yearly plans stay active: If you already have a yearly Pro subscription, nothing changes: you can keep your plan for as long as you do not cancel it.
  2. 2. Clearer plan comparison: The updated Pricing page makes it easier to compare access across Free, Pro Monthly, and Lifetime.

v1.5.0

Faster home page and more accurate filter counts

Faster home page and more accurate filter counts

Opening Unsection should feel quicker, filter counts stay accurate when you clear Style or Type, and search hints point you toward useful section ideas.

  1. 1. Home page that appears sooner: The hero and top of the gallery show up faster while the rest of the grid finishes loading, so browsing can start without waiting on everything at once.
  2. 2. Filter counts that reset correctly: Website and Community totals update when you apply a Style or Type filter, and now return to the full count when you clear those filters.
  3. 3. Clearer search suggestions: The search field placeholder now suggests trying “Benefits” or “Stats” to help you find common section patterns faster.

v1.4.0

Faster browsing and a clearer pricing layout

Faster browsing and a clearer pricing layout

This release makes filtering and opening sections feel snappier, tightens the Premium plan rows on Pricing, and keeps sign-in from getting stuck when the next page is slow to load.

  1. 1. Snappier filters and navigation: Filter chips update right away, and moving through the gallery or into a section detail should feel quicker and more responsive.
  2. 2. Clearer Premium plan choices: On the Pricing page, each Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime row keeps the plan details on the left and puts the Choose button on the right for easier scanning.
  3. 3. Sign-in that doesn’t leave you waiting: If the page after sign-in or sign-up is slow to open, Unsection now offers a continue path so you’re not stuck on a frozen button.

v1.3.0

Smoother sign-in and clearer “New” sections

Smoother sign-in and clearer “New” sections

Signing in and managing your account should feel calm and predictable. This release keeps you on the form while auth finishes, and makes “New” badges reflect sections published in the last day.

  1. 1. Calmer authentication: Sign in, sign up, password reset, and account activation now stay on the page with clear button states like “Signing in…” and “Creating account…”, instead of jumping to a blank loading screen.
  2. 2. More reliable redirects after sign-in: After a successful email sign-in, Unsection applies your session before leaving the page so you go straight to where you intended—without bouncing back to the login form.
  3. 3. “New” means the last 24 hours: Section cards now show the New badge for a full day after publish (or scheduled post time), so late-day drops get the same visibility as morning ones.

Other improvements

  • The Unsection favicon is inset so the mark reads more clearly in browser tabs.

Fixes

  • Fixed a race where successful login briefly returned to the sign-in form before redirecting home.

v1.2.0

Feedback is now one click away

Feedback is now one click away

You can now share an idea, report an issue, or leave general feedback straight from the Account menu while you browse Unsection.

  1. 1. In-app feedback: Choose “Give a Feedback” in the Account menu to open a simple feedback form without leaving the page.
  2. 2. More polished navigation: The header no longer shows an outline after mouse clicks, while keyboard navigation still clearly shows which item is selected.

v1.1.0

A new home for your account and billing

A new home for your account and billing

We rebuilt member sign-in for the Unsection app and added a dedicated account area where you can see your profile, access level, security options, and billing information in one place.

Your existing Free, Pro, or Lifetime access is connected to the same verified email address, so returning members can continue with the account they already use.

  1. 1. Google and email sign-in: Sign in with Google or use email and password, with email confirmation, account activation, and password recovery available when needed.
  2. 2. Profile and billing: The new Account page shows your current Free, Pro, or Lifetime plan and provides secure access to Stripe billing history and subscription management when available.
  3. 3. Account security: See whether Google is connected, connect it as another secure way to access your account, and change your password when email and password login is enabled.

Other improvements

  • Sessions now refresh securely so you can stay signed in while browsing inspiration.
  • Billing changes such as renewals, cancellations, and payment issues can now stay synchronized with your account.
  • All inspiration remains publicly accessible while the new account and billing foundation is tested.

Fixes

  • Corrected imported Pro and Lifetime plan labels for existing members.
  • Improved the Account menu arrow contrast across dark pages.

v1.0.0

Introducing Unsection

Introducing Unsection

Unsection is a section-first design inspiration app. Browse curated website sections — hero, pricing, CTA, footer, and more — instead of full-page screenshots.

  1. 1. Section browsing: Explore by section type from the sidebar, or open dedicated pages for styles, industries, and website types.
  2. 2. Advanced filters: Switch between Website and Community sources, then layer on Style and Type filters to narrow the grid.
  3. 3. Sort view: Reorder results by Latest, Oldest, or Random to find fresh inspiration or revisit older picks.
  4. 4. Section filter on collection pages: On any style, industry, or type page, use the Section dropdown to filter down to a specific section — like Hero or Pricing — without leaving the page.
